The idea of slavery or slave trade was not foreign to Africa before their contact with the Europeans. There is evidence that Africans were involved in the slave trade through the trans-Saharan and ocean slave trade . CONCERNED ROAD USERS TO THE UPPER EAST REGIONAL MINISTER

“FIX THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS OR STEP DOWN”– CONCERNED ROAD USERS TO THE UPPER EAST REGIONAL MINISTER The capital town of the Upper East Region, Bolgatanga, roads has been decorated with all kinds of traffic lights but none of them are functioning. This makes users of the road: both drivers and pedestrians feel uncomfortable anytime they are using these major roads in their daily businesses in the town. They believed that the traffic lights are just on the various road points for beautification and not to help pedestrians to minimize road accidents. According to Mr Razak, a spokesperson for Bolgatanga Youth Movement (BYM), they have been complaining about the poor nature of the traffic lights to the Regional Minister and the Municipal Chief Executive, but they have turned a blind eye on it. And they are calling on the president of the Republic of Ghana to either help them to fix the traffic lights or allow the Regional Minister to resign. ” For the past two years, the traffic l

THE CURRENT SITUATION OF FILTH IN GHANA

SOLUTIONS TO THESE IMPENDING ISSUES ARE AS FOLLOWS ; Place bins at vantage points – It has been said that, the last time this was tried, the bins were stolen. Unpatriotic Ghanaians shouldn’t stop us from living well. Police the beaches- Beaches must be policed, cleaned and preserved – Seriously, the idea of fish fattened on poop is not natural or funny. It is not a worthy cultural practice either. It should stop. The sight of adults and children constantly shitting at our coastline is one of the quickest ways of spreading disease and degrading the seabed. Every home must have a toilet facility – In 2019, open defecation should be unacceptable to all Ghanaians. This must be the law. No landlord should be allowed to rent out rooms if they do not have a  toilet facility. There can be a schedule and a plan for existing properties to include toilet facilities for the number of occupants. But there should be no reason new properties should go up without toilets, Shops and other publ

THE CURRENT SITUATION OF FILTH IN GHANA

Image
The Republic of Ghana is found in West Africa. It was the first west African country to gain independence from its colonial master called The British. Over the decades, Ghana has been struggling with issues of filth which happens to be the worst social crisis it faces. Despite efforts put in by various governments, individuals and civil society groups, the menace keeps escalating. One of the main causes of poor hygiene is dumping of filth at unauthorized places. Some of these places where these actions do take place in abundance is in Greater Accra which is the capital of Ghana. Authorities in charge of this have been rendered useless by those people i call disobedient citizens and foreigners. Everyone thinks he or she pays tax. Besides they don’t see what the government does with their taxes that they do pay, forgetting the environmental hazards from dirty environments will affect us all. Another issue is flooding which is due to un-authorize building of settlemen
