NAPSA HOLD IT'S DELEGATES CONFERENCE TOMORROW

The Northern Regional National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) will on Saturday 2nd February, 2018, hold its first Regional NASPA Delegates Conference at Tamale College of Education, SAKYE HALL/CONFERENCE ROOM.

The conference, will host all District and Municipal executives within the region, executives from other regions, National Service Scheme Districts and Municipal Coordinators and National Service Scheme Regional Director Resource persons and Ex, Officios.

ABOUT NASPA

NASPA is an association under the Ghana national service scheme which is established to see to the welfare of its members. It was established in 1983 by the then Service Personnel who having agreed to participate in the National Service Scheme of the Republic of Ghana and noting the importance of the adoption of a unified and cohesive approach towards the welfare of Service Personnel, having in mind the Service Excellence, Integrity and Accountability, Responsible Leadership, Use national service as a vehicle to foster national unity, social cohesion and integration and Encourage the youth to become change agents in society.

SOLUTIONS TO THESE IMPENDING ISSUES ARE AS FOLLOWS ; Place bins at vantage points – It has been said that, the last time this was tried, the bins were stolen. Unpatriotic Ghanaians shouldn’t stop us from living well. Police the beaches- Beaches must be policed, cleaned and preserved – Seriously, the idea of fish fattened on poop is not natural or funny. It is not a worthy cultural practice either. It should stop. The sight of adults and children constantly shitting at our coastline is one of the quickest ways of spreading disease and degrading the seabed. Every home must have a toilet facility – In 2019, open defecation should be unacceptable to all Ghanaians. This must be the law. No landlord should be allowed to rent out rooms if they do not have a  toilet facility. “FIX THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS OR STEP DOWN”– CONCERNED ROAD USERS TO THE UPPER EAST REGIONAL MINISTER The capital town of the Upper East Region, Bolgatanga, roads has been decorated with all kinds of traffic lights but none of them are functioning. This makes users of the road: both drivers and pedestrians feel uncomfortable anytime they are using these major roads in their daily businesses in the town. They believed that the traffic lights are just on the various road points for beautification and not to help pedestrians to minimize road accidents. According to Mr Razak, a spokesperson for Bolgatanga Youth Movement (BYM), they have been complaining about the poor nature of the traffic lights to the Regional Minister and the Municipal Chief Executive, but they have turned a blind eye on it.
