SEVEN CHALLENGES OF TODAY'S YOUTH

1. They are disrespectful
Some think the whole world is against them. Others have become fixated on the disapproval from their parents about their  choices of life, hence they see every adult as an enemy and an opportunity to disrespect them in a bid to offload the anger they have for their parents. A few have very few coins in their wallets to boast of. And that's gotten into their heads so they tend to be disrespectful. Those from the rich homes, whose parents are divided about their choices of lifestyle are mostly the worst culprits here.

2. They are impatient
Oh yes. Some are in such a hurry to make it in life. They've heard the adage that Rome was not built in a day. But they believe that in Hollywood, that's possible so why not. They will do almost anything to become famous so they can slay. What a life. They won't mind backstabbing anyone to get to the top. To them what is important is money and fame. To tell with integrity, hard work and patience. Those are not in their dictionaries. They believe in get rich quick or die trying. And surely, they are dying paaa. Spiritually, psychologically and physically.

3. They put money and fame above experience and exposure
It is a fact that when money becomes your focus, you become a slave to it. But I have grown to appreciate the fact that, when you have adequate knowledge, experience and the right exposure, you don't need to be updating your CV frequently. Deals look for you. Recommendations come when you haven't advertised in the dailies. Truth is, day in day out, our lifestyles are enough advertisements of our worth. You think no one is aware? Don't be deceived. Someone is keenly following. For the youth of this part of the 21st century, hmmm. It appears they are in such a hurry that money and fame come first. Experience and exposure can wait. God save us.

4. They lack good courage
Mind you, there are various levels and types of courage. Being haughty and insolent do not make you a courageous person. No. Here, I'm talking about applying faith and chasing their dreams despite the odds. When you believe in something, you must have the patience and faith to work at it. Believe God to take you to an expected end. In this sense, friends, relatives and enemies will try to talk you out of it. But like a friend will say "if you know, you know". Some people have given up what could have become empires and conglomerates just because some losers of an adult told them it ain't gonna work out, and they fell for it.

5. They lack knowledge so they are shallow minded
Oh yes. A good number of them I've encountered are just blank up there. They argue about everything. They never debate. Some have become experts in shouting in a bid to win an arguments. But you see, winning an argument is not the same as being able to convince someone in a conversation no matter the divergent opinions. Successful people seek to convince people, not to debate them or win arguments. When you are adequately resourced mentally, you speak better. You become a delight to associate with. Some of us are allergic to ignorant people who are mostly arrogant because we know their ignorance is supposed to be a mirage to cover their inadequacies about life's issues. Even in the boxing ring, a knowledgeable boxer could use his expertise to beat the strongest man.

6. They live lives of falsehood. They believe in showing off what they actually don't have
That's a pathetic one. Living lives of falsehood. They've made such words like "slay" whatever, more popular among their circles. They go borrowing from friends to show off. Some spend the peanuts in their wallets to buy clothes and accessories to go and slay at functions or on social media. They look flashy on social media, but in real life, their situation is best equated with that of a church mouse. Yeah. They live in dirty surroundings, from poor homes with struggling parents; yet they are the most popular slay whatever. The Malls, fashion shows, pool parties, artistes nights, awards shows, hotel lobbies etc are the usual hang outs. Don't be surprised to hear this: "some actually walk to these functions". Boi

7. They are not spiritually enlightened
Perhaps this is the part which worries me most as an individual. Humans are tripartite beings. A human is a spirit, soul and body (flesh). When the spirit is weak, the body is useless. How many of the young people really know and understand the secret place of the Most High. Going for juju or spiritual protection from whoever does not make you spiritually enlightened. Even if you went to a Mallam for charms (God forbid), you need to understand the source of his power. You must know his standing in the realms. What's his rank. The day that mallam is no more, what happens to you. You should know, by discernment, who to confront and who or what to flee from. Some youngsters meet certain destiny helpers but their arrogance and ignorance cause them to lose what these people could have done in their lives. How many of us can really understand the promptings of the Spirit of God? Do we even know him?

Conclusion
Life is a journey of choices. Yeah. You are solely responsible for all the choices you make. At every single time or moment, we make decisions which affect and/or determine your future. Be a good chooser. Bless up. I respond to "Samuel Ato Afful".
