Bawumia leaves to perform Hajj

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has departed Accra for Mecca in Saudi Arabia on Friday to perform the Islamic pilgrimage of Hajj.
 
Accompanied by his wife, Samira Bawumia, they will join thousands of Ghanaians and millions of Muslims around the world in performing this year’s Hajj.

Performing Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and fulfils one of the conditions for total submission to the will of Allah.
The office of the Dr Bawumia said, while on the pilgrimage, the Vice President will use the spiritual exercise to pray for the nation and its citizens.

He is expected to return on August 27.

Ghanaians should stand with Hon. Agyapong- Ghanaian based London urged.

A Ghanaian based in London Mr. Ebenezer Adjei-Sarpong has called on Ghanaians to stand with the Member of Parliament of Assin Central, Hon. It is not a worthy cultural practice either. It should stop. The sight of adults and children constantly shitting at our coastline is one of the quickest ways of spreading disease and degrading the seabed. Every home must have a toilet facility – In 2019, open defecation should be unacceptable to all Ghanaians. This must be the law. No landlord should be allowed to rent out rooms if they do not have a  toilet facility.
